Sacred Loving Exercise - Sensational Scents
Your sense of smell is intricately connected to your brain's memory function and is a source of great erotic pleasure.
Time for Exercise: one or more hours Properties Required: private vehicle or public transportation
Steps:
1. Identify the locations you will visit, and map out your travel itinerary around town to visit the stores you have selected. Include stores that offer a selection of essential oils and others that offer a selection of fine perfumes.
2. Visit the stores and sniff the sample bottles of essential oils or perfumes to determine your favorites. Many of the finer stores will give you free single application samples of the scents you prefer.
3. At home, experiment with adding your selections to your bathing, lovemaking, ritual, and ceremonial practices:
* add a few drops of essential oil to your bath water
* add a drop or two onto the vacuum filter
* add a drop or two in an essential oil diffuser (with a tea light or specially designed night light)
* experiment making your own scented massage oil blends
* add a drop or two onto a piece of cotton and place it in a drawer
* lightly perfume between your breasts, around your genitals, anus, feet, etc. (being careful of mucous membranes)
Comments: With essential oils and perfumes, buy the most expensive you can afford. To distill the essence of a fragrance requires a very large quantity of original plant material, hence the high cost for rare quality scents.
If your nose is sensitive to smell, the extra cost for the finest fragrances is well worth it. Health food stores, New Age stores, and many bookstores carry a selection of essential oils.
There are also many online retailers. Do a search for essential oils at Google.com and you will easily find a supplier. Visit Sexy Spiritual Relationships Membership to read the full article "Perfume."

With charm and precision, biophysicist Luca Turin explains the molecular makeup--and the art--of a scent. Biophysicist Luca Turin studies the science of smell. He's a leading proponent of the vibrational theory of smell -- the idea that when our noses pick up a scent, we're reacting to the vibrational properties of the molecule we're smelling. (This is in opposition to the shape theory of smell, which imagines smelly molecules fitting into conveniently shaped receptors in our noses.) The Science of Scent Video (15:53) by Luca Turin.
Here is some of Turin's advice for appreciating a fine perfume.
1. Smell top to bottom Perfumes usually unfold in three (often very different) stages: the sparkling first few minutes are the fragrance's top note, followed by its true personality, known as the heart note, and ending with the base note, aka the drydown, hours later. Something you love at the counter you may loathe by the parking lot. We recommend top-to-bottom tests on skin and on paper, since some scents that disappoint on the heat of skin may shine on your shirtsleeve.
2. Write it down Bring a pen to write names on paper test strips, so you're not in anguish hours later, trying to recall which is the third scent from the left that transports you to Shangri-La. Keep a cheap, possibly extremely trashy paperback on hand, so you can store strips between pages to keep them separate.
3. Rest your nose Noses tune out, which is why you can smell your friends' homes but not your own. Smell no more than five scents per day on paper strips and try on only the best one or two, to keep your nose reliable.
4. Check the radiance To get a good sense of how the perfume will smell to other people as you walk past, try spraying a test strip and leaving it in the room while you step out for a bit. Come back fifteen minutes later and breathe in: that's the radiance.
This is the rating scale for perfumes and colognes used by Turin and Sanchez. It is possible to find high 4 and 5 star quality ratings for moderately priced scents.
